Upcoming: February Colloquium with Thorsten Strufe

Join us for the next Interdisciplinary Colloquium on Digitalisation of Research! This time we're meeting on 5th February in the afternoon, at 16:00. Our special guest will be Thorsten Strufe, Professor of Privacy and Security, KIT, who will give a talk on "Privacy Consideration in the Context of Academic Research". This talk will sketch the scenario of academic research on personal data, and discuss common pitfalls regarding (in-effective) anonymization attempts, and technical approaches towards privacy-preserving analyses.

Love Data Week 2026: Knowledge Graphs & AI in Sports Science

As part of Love Data Week 2026 organized by forschungsdaten.info, the Institute of Sports and Sports Science (IfSS) at KIT is offering a short online presentation on knowledge graphs and artificial intelligence "Knowledge graphs and artificial intelligence in sports science" (in German language), using sports science examples while demonstrating methods and concepts that are broadly applicable to any discipline for more structured and effective AI-driven data use.

Fully Funded PhD Opportunities in Atrial Cardiomyopathy & AF Research – Apply by 12 April 2026!

Exciting Opportunity for Early-Career Researchers! 
TrackAF, a new Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network, is offering 15 fully funded PhD positions in atrial cardiomyopathy and atrial fibrillation research. This interdisciplinary programme combines computational modelling, clinical AI, data-driven approaches, and wet lab science to tackle key challenges in cardiovascular health. Open to Master’s graduates (or soon-to-graduate) in biomedical engineering, data science, machine learning, biology, numerical modelling, and related fields, these 36-month positions are hosted across leading European institutions and include formal training, international secondments, and hands-on research. Apply by 12 April 2026! The program will start in September 2026.
