The recently established Leibniz Science Campus “Digital Transformation of Research” (DiTraRe) investigates effects of the broadly understood process of digitalisation of research on a multilevel scale. In an interdisciplinary environment, we concentrate on four research clusters concerning different topics and gathering use cases from varying scientific areas. For a multiscale investigation, these research clusters are interwoven with four dimensions, which approach the tasks from different perspectives and pose their own research questions. Within this matrix we are not only developing practical solutions for each use case but also seeking to find generalisations valuable to the scientific community as well as society in general.

In this talk we present the main ideology behind DiTraRe, which is to establish a new research branch. We present different measures via which we are aiming at our main goal as well as discuss different outcomes which will be achieved alongway. We broadly discuss the impact which our consortium may have on researchers and society together with its connections to NFDI initiatives.

Expert talk: Data Infrastructures as a Foundation for AI Projects

A robust data infrastructure is essential for the AI community, supporting every stage of the data lifecycle—from collection and creation to processing, analysis, publishing, archiving, and reuse of resources. This talk will highlight the foundational role of these infrastructures in AI-driven initiatives, showcasing several ongoing infrastructure initiatives and illustrating how they contribute to a modern data ecosystem.
